The main floor of Atelier Rose's artist studios

Come to stay at a classic Parisian artist's atelier!

Atelier Rose is a bright, intimate, two-level creative studio in the 20th arrondissement — part working artist’s space, part quiet refuge, part residence. It’s a space for writing, making music, and hosting creative workshops and artist residencies in Paris. When the atelier is not in use by musician and Atelier Rose director Lindsay Kay or other artists, the space is opened to guests who want to stay somewhere a little different than a typical apartment or hotel; somewhere with soul, softness, and a distinctly artistic atmosphere.

The atelier has its own private street entrance and is composed of a main studio floor, a cozy mezzanine/reading nook, and a souplex bedroom space below with a comfortable queen fold-out bed, closet, shower, sink, and additional work desk. Guests have access to the entire studio while staying, including the kitchenette (microwave, coffee machine, mini-fridge, kettle, and one induction hub for very basic cooking), two distinct workspaces, electric piano, projector for film nights, dimmable lighting, bluetooth speakers, and the creative energy of a lived-in art space. It is not a traditional apartment, but a warm, cozy, thoughtfully outfitted studio, perfect for artists, writers, thinkers, wanderers, and anyone who wants to feel like they truly live in Paris, even if only for a little while.

The atelier is located in the charming, calm, and creative 20th arrondissement, surrounded by typical cafés, gourmet restaurants, independent shops, artists, families, and one of the loveliest neighborhood atmospheres in Paris. There’s a local farmer’s market twice a week just outside the door, and the famous Père Lachaise cemetery just down the street.

Please note:

*The souplex/bedroom space is accessed by a narrow spiral staircase — it is sturdy but requires care while descending and ascending.

**The mezzanine ladder can be used on request but is to be climbed at your own risk.

***The space is not suitable for children, pets, or guests with mobility concerns, and is sadly not wheelchair accessible.

You'll have use of the entire atelier during your stay, including the kitchenette, workspaces, souplex bedroom/bathroom residence, and mezzanine/reading nook.

Artist Residency & Visiting Artists

Atelier Rose is also a space for artistic exchange, creative practice, and temporary residence for artists. We host visiting artists, facilitate small creative residencies, and welcome teaching artists who come to Paris to collaborate, lead workshops, or reconnect with their own work.

If you are an artist, writer, musician, researcher, or creative practitioner who would like to:

  • Stay at Atelier Rose as part of your own self-directed residency
  • Propose a workshop, talk, or small creative event
  • Join us as a visiting teaching artist

…We’d love to hear from you. Please reach out with your idea, project, or interest and we can see what feels like the right fit.

Guests staying as artists are welcome to use the full studio space for practice, writing, music-making (respecting neighbors, of course), and other creative work.

Pricing

To keep the space accessible while also supporting the studio, we offer:

€100 per night – general guests
€80 per night – artists / cultural workers
€40 cleaning fee per stay

Stays are typically weekend or short-stay based, but feel free to inquire about longer artist residencies depending on schedule and availability.

If finances are a barrier for an artistic stay, please reach out. Whenever possible, Atelier Rose aims to support artists, not exclude them.

Practical Notes:

Private street entrance
Fresh linens and towels
Radiators on both levels (the space heats quickly, but on the coldest winter days it can get a touch chilly depending on your tolerance for cold)

We are always available for help, questions, and local recommendations.
Loss of keys unfortunately incurs a €200 fee, as they are quite costly and specialized — thank you for taking care of them during your stay.
